PAQSO1 My contesting software:
I first wrote PAQSO1 because
nobody had a contest logging program that a mobile could use in the
PAQSO
party. I wrote it in windows but on the first contest I
discovered
windows based notebooks created ALOT of computer hash. So I re-wrote it
in dos. It can be run from from a windows window in full screen mode
but
you'll find that windows is not trust worthy and you'll want to run in
dos anyhow.
My own version of this software has been outdone by KA3JWE's new windows version. Before you try mine, have a look at the only other two programs available from serious PAQSO hams. There are other programs that want us ham's to "pay" for what little support they have for PAQSO but I found them to have even less support than these two guys. At least as of the Summer of 1999.
I highly recommend KA3JWE's logger. Donster (Donald) has done a great job of making the contest logging not such a chore. If you have noise problems or are running mobile then you might still want to look at my software but KA3JWE has excelent support for mobiles AND county lines. It even has some support for a mobile to use this as his logging software! This is the second peice of PAQSO software to have such support. The only catch is the summary sheet needs to have the mobile bonus manualy added which ain't so hard.
Harry Bump also has a nice windows program but it lacks ease of use for base stations logging mobiles and county lines. Mobiles themselves can't use it without saveing things to different directories and starting a new contest. Basicly it is not friendly to the PAQSO mobile community but its by a great guy that loves the PAQSO party so its worthy of further investigation and development. KM3D PAWIN
If you want a quiet version for special uses, Such as inside a mobile with close antenna's !, please drop me a note and I will gladly give you an updated version of mine program.
I have my own home grown
software
designed specifically for the PAQSO party.
