Tim, the board is within the first year of production.  Bob at S-com can tell you when they started using the LED's as standard.... I bought it off the Scom Chat Page and wasn't told it was that old.

It came without the LED's on the front panel, I called Bob at Scom and that's when I found out it was produced within the first year they made 7's....

Bob tells me that the hardware is the same as the last one they made and the firmwhere is the important part.

VER 2.03 B... dated Feb 2001. I have the manual and also the manual on CD.

I had asked Bob about adding Led's as I had done with 2 5K's but he suggested that it could not be done with the 7K as the box would not be able to be upgraded. I asked about a new box.

When he had produced the last 7K he had one box left over he offered it to me, which is what the controller is in now.

So we have a 7K from the first year of production with the last box that he didn't have a board left to put in to...  Now 2 boxes one empty and one with the 7K. They are rack mount.

I switched the board programmed it with a basic bit of programming, made an adaptor so I could just plug in the cable from my Micor using a 5K into the 7K and it worked fine.

I re-connected the 5-K and that's where things are at this time.

You are welcome to check with Bob at S-com I have been with using S-Coms since the 5K and have 3 of them all of which have had the led's added.

If it had not worked as it should it would have been sent to S-Com for what ever repair it needed.

I can't believe a 7K for $495.00. I bought it on a wim. and just am not using it.

I hope this answers your questions.
