Old Progress

• March 18th 2005 purchased a SCOM 7k with voice $505.
  
• October 19th 2005 obtained a GE MASTR II BASE station for use by NoBarc (91 or 03).
• Showed the BASE at the club meeting Oct 23rd 2005.
  
• 11/08/05 ordered 146.91- crystals from International Crystal. Expected delivery 11/29/05..
• 11/09/05 changed the order to compensated and rush delivery. Now we expect them 11/29/05 including the extra time to compensate!
• 11/10/05 Kurt went up the hill and worked on the old controller, perhaps more. He has not spoken to anyone following his trip up there.
• 11/13/05 N1LZH, W1BS and KE3HT went up to the hill. Found 5.6:1 SWR and everything else the same. Control receiver was not attached.
• 11/15/05 finished mods for full duplex and removed excess cables and wires
• 11/16/05 got CTCSS board working on 162.2 encode and decode.
• 11/18/05 obtained rails and began modified controllers to add second port to monitor bunker alarms.
• 11/19/05 controller dip switches set and 25pair rails installed. Controller is ready to attach to the radio.
• 11/20/05 Finished the controller hook up, Attached Andserson Power Pole Power connectors and powered it up using the 15?mhz crystals. Ran the PA at 95watts for 30 minutes to see if it would have a premature failure. Then I ran it an additional 60 minutes at 40watts.
  
• 11/21/05 Went to Albany to get a Repeater Audio Board! I also got some LBA's over some of the boards.
• 11/25/05 cleaned up some wiring.
• 11/26/05  split the power feed and fused the PA seperatly and tested. Obtained and tested a couple of fans for the PA.
• 11/29/05 Crystals arrived and they worked! Almost- I have an oscillation that is keeping the squelch opened. The detector has 2.5v rather than .38v. WX good for thursday but freezing Friday and Sat. Loosing hope of going up the hill.
• 11/30/05 Receiver and transmitter have tuned up pretty good. The PTT works well but the squelch is stuck open. More work for tomorrow night!
• 12/3&4/05 swapped IFAS board no change.
• 12/03/05 Puchased a 6can set of duplexers for the 147.03 project but I will use it to put 146.91 on the air for testing.
• 12/10/05 using my 440 repeater I compared the operation of the IFAS board and got the PTT unstuck. I also got the audio problem fixed! All I need to fix now is the PL problem.
• 12/11/05 (1am) Got the PL Decode working. The mod I had was incorrect for the board we have. Still need Encode but I think I already know how to fix that.
• 12/11/05 (daytime) Got the PL encode (transmit) working. The alarm features are working. Documenting controller programming for repeater managers.
  
• 12/14/05 Duplexers arrived!
• 12/15/05 parts arrived to mod the duplexers.
• 12/15/05 oops PL encode does not work with decode. Need TS-64! (more $)
  
• 12/30/05 Station Shelf removal of connectors J1 J2 J3 and hardwire them direct.
• 12/30/05 back plain Molex connector removal. Go direct, gets rid of intermittants.
• 01/15/05 Duplexers are working! Some need cleaning for reliable contacts. Need cables!

Progress:  03/29/06 All the work is Completed! Ready for Greylock!

• I might also want to build a better hielacle filter for the receiver someday.
  
• 3/29/06 re-tuned and deviated again a few times. We are good to go!
  
• 3/28/06 re-installed 91 crystals and retuned. Prepared for Greylock!
  
• 3/26/06 Demo'ed at club meeting!
  
• 3/25/06 replace c411 in the receiver lo. WOW .35uv@20db sinad! Way better than spec's!
  
• 3/23/06 set Devitation.
• 3/21/06 installed fan control board and programmed ctlr to control.
  
• 3/18-19/06 mounted fans and got them running full time
  
• 3/16/06 made a double sheilded Receive cable and mount
  
• 3/5/06 PA rebuild, re-greese and relay removal.
• 3/3/06 purchased brushless ball bearing 12v dc fans.
  
• 3/1/06 Obtain and install a PL deck that can do BOTH encode and decode at the same time.
  
• 2/28/06 Exciter mod into the ham band properly.
• 2/1/06 damaged exciter board while doing ham band mod. repair part arrives next week.
  
• 2/6/06 Purchased crystals for 147.03 so I can test the 91 repeater at full power ($100 recorded in 147.03 budget)
• 2/6/06 Purchased the Comspec ts-64 PL encode/decode $67
  
• All cavities of the 03 Duplexer look Great but I need connectors for cables. They have been ordered from Tessco
