NoBarc's 146.91

UP !

updated 07/18/09

07/18/09 N1FGY, KJ1K and KE3HT took a trip to greylock with a network analyzer. We repaired the broken cavity in the transmit chain. The fixed cavity has 20db better rejection of 146.31 on the transmit side than the temporary cavity had. This should result in a slightly better receive since there will be less desense. This also resulted in a minor improvement in insertion loss on 146.91mhz which means 6 more watts out! Unfortunately I did NOT appropriately re-adjust the squelch so we will hear some sparking from time to time between receptions until I get up there again. Final power out is now 55watts and no reflected power. We also turned off the the lodge alarm. Battery backup was tested for 1 minute and the voltage only dropped to 12.46 volts. The Wall fan needs replacement. It is 10 inches in diameter.

05/31/09 KA1SUN reports the repeater as having 40watts fwd and 0 reflected. Perfect!

Projects for 2009:
  1. Replace Fan controller with one that has hum filter
  2. make a sensor for when AC is out. have controller change courtsey tone.
  3. have a RF bypass to run on exciter only using controller.

Some old events:
10/16/08 A work party went up Greylock and installed 3 new power supplies. The supply for 146.91 is a dual redundant supply AND it has battery backup! Durracom RM5012 + RMBC.

08/.23/08 WA1ZHM and KE3HT went up and measured AC power usage. 92watts at IDLE! 357 watts on transmit.
